Improve Elasticity in the Skin with Coconut Oil
If you look at the skincare industry today, it is constantly manufacturing products that promise to improve elasticity in the skin. Collagen and elastin are two essential components in the skin that the body loses as it ages. Some skincare products may contain extracts of coconut oil, but using it alone improves elasticity in the skin.
The Skin Age Test
There’s a useful test that you can try at home that gives you an indication of your skin’s current age. Pinch the back of your hand for five minutes, and dependent on your age, the time it takes for the skin to bounce back gives an indication of the age of your skin. This is a useful test of elasticity in the skin.
- Under 30 should take up to 2 seconds.
- Aged 30 to 44 can take up to 4 seconds.
- 45 to 50 years olds should return to normal within 9 seconds.
- Up to 15 seconds for a 60 year old.
The quicker your skin regains its appearance the younger your skin’s age. For example, I’m 33 and the back of my hand returned to normal within a second. If your skin took longer to bounce back to its usual appearance, buy a jar of coconut oil and use it regularly on your hands and skin to improve elasticity.
If your skin took longer than normal to return to normal, feed it with optimum nutrition and essential fatty acids, like those found in coconut oil. A little goes a long way with coconut oil. As it’s a saturated fat, too much can leave the skin looking and feeling greasy. Use a small amount, and if the skin is still thirsty for more add a little more. Repeat the test in a month after using coconut oil on your skin daily to improve elasticity in your skin. After a short while you will experience significant results.
The skin enjoys absorbing ingredients that nurtures this largest organ from the inside out. Chemical ingredients cause a built up of toxins that the liver has to remove. To achieve beautiful supple skin that glows from the inside out; take a tip from the Polynesians and use coconut oil daily.
