Is lack of sleep linked to the food we eat

Everyone has the best advise on what to do to fall asleep. Some tell you blatantly to stay away from coffee while some tell you to have a warm glass of milk.

What we do know for sure is that there are some foods that are guaranteed to put you to sleep like a baby. Some of these are Almonds and Walnuts, Oatmeal, Rasberries, Cherries and Bananas. These contain high doses of either potassium, melatonin, and magnesium which all promotes sleep.

Some foods that you should definitely avoid are fried, greasy foods as well as celery and grapefruit. These increases the acidity in your stomach, creating heartburn thus keeping you awake.
